1

Modern English landscape painter Rex Preston was born in 1948 in Yardley, Birmingham. Up to 16 years living in different places of the Midlands – the central part of England, until his family settled in Derbshire. He studied at the School of Art in Newcastle – Ander – Lime, and then at the College of Arts Derby. At the beginning of his career, Preston has worked in various genres, but gradually the love of the countryside led him to painting landscapes. A strong influence on his work was that he lived in a beautiful riverside location in Derbshire. Continuous monitoring of the vagaries of changing weather and nature shaped his style of painting. Preston often travels around the country, often accompanied by his son Mark, also an artist to find new places to visit or favorite areas like Cornwall or the Lake District. In recent years, to the list of favorite places artist added Norfolk and Pembrokeshire. Generally, Preston likes to paint everything – from the mountainous landscapes of Scotland to the Cornish hills covered in spring flowers.
